Quit Instigatin’
Update - 5:05 pm: It’s a wash. The game was PPd; Angels still whiny bitches.
So here we go again. The LA Angels of Anaheim, Orange County, California, play the World Champs tonight for this three-game-series finale. Who starts? Why it’s Kelvim Escobar. Who catches for the ChiSox? Why it’s none other than AJ Pierzynski, the “clubhouse cancer” and the Cheat that “stole” (as the Califronia press would like you to believe) first base last year in game 2 of the ALCS – the ball hit the dirt BTW.
The umps have been told to be on the alert for the game tonight. Ozzie and Escobar have exchanged words over the media. But both managers insist nothing’s going on.
From the LA Times:
Both managers vehemently denied there was any animosity between the teams, and if crew chief Tim Welke issues warnings before tonight’s game, Guillen said, “There’s a great chance of me getting thrown out before the first pitch.”
This all seems like it’s a bone the Anaheim and LA papers are wanting to pick with the Sox; “Angry Sox” read one headline, and of course, there was this correction (reg. required) from the LA Times on April 30th:
FOR THE RECORD:
Baseball: A headline Sunday in Sports about Saturday’s Angel game said Chicago White Sox Manager Ozzie Guillen was mad at Angel Manager Mike Scioscia. Guillen was mad at Angel pitcher Kelvim Escobar for hitting White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski with a pitch. —
Maybe LA press has to stir up controversy now that the Angels can’t seem to find their winning ways.
How ’bout stop instigatin’, stop whining, and play ball.
