Craig Counsell and Orlando Hudson are establishing themselves as the best double play combo in baseball. From the Arizona Republic:

No team has feasted on more double plays this season than the Diamondbacks, who have turned a major league-best 58 through 40 games, putting on them on pace for 235 for the season. That would shatter the major league record of 217 double plays, set by the Philadelphia Athletics in 1949.

Are Counsell and Hudson really that good? That fast? That in sync? Counsell says they just don’t make many mistakes:

The reason that we’ve turned so many double plays is because when we get a chance to turn a double play, we’ve turned it. There haven’t been any bobbles, there haven’t been any bad feeds. That’s why we’ve turned them.

Sounds simple enough.
