Jason Grimsley has been busted for taking human growth hormone, steroids and an innopropriate amount of Sunny Delight. That in and of itself isn’t a big deal. Just add him to the list of small-time players who have failed drug tests. But here’s a line from the ESPN.com story on Grimsley that really got my attention:
According to [IRS agent Jeff] Novitsky, Grimsley told him the names of other players he believed were using, but the names of those players were blacked out of the court records.
Jason’s been talking. How long will it be before the IRS or FBI starts banging on players’ doors with search warrants? It’s been amazing how, up to this point, there haven’t been more players cooperating with the feds, squeeling on other guys in order to keep their asses out of jail. But apparently the good-old-boy system is breaking down.
