Fairly or not, there&#039;s a complete difference of opinion as to how to put Rock&#039;s career in context. Was he a power hitter? No. Did he reach 3000 hits? No. Did he bat .300 for his career? No. Was he the best base stealer of his era? No.

When all of these things are true, I think it&#039;s hard to expect a lot of people to rally around him. Personally, I think it&#039;s unfair. His accomplishments are getting tossed aside because he played in a world where Rickey Henderson existed. He&#039;s a more accomplished hitter than the majority of lead-off guys already enshrined.</description>
