Only an Astros fan would think they are going to have the best lineup in the NL. They won't even have the best offense in their division. Milwaukee and Chicago both will have better lineups. I don't know if you heard but your prize acquisition, Tejada, has been involved in a little steroid investigation. Expect his power numbers to continue to drop off and he is major defensive down grade from Everett. Don't expect Kaz Matsui to have the same offensive numbers he had in Colorado either. As a Cubs fan I was thrilled to see what Houston did in the offseason. I can't believe an Astros fan would be too happy about the moves they made this offseason. I just came here from MLBTR (probably for the last time) and I've got to say, your assessment of the Astros, while is some ways spot-on, is littered with bias. LMAO@"...their offense should be OKAY." They might have the best lineup in the NL. Wade is not who I wanted for the job, but he has impressed me with the few resources he had. It's easy for you to say that he "gave away nearly every prospect left" but what do you know about the guys he gave up? Patton (surprise, surprise) just announced season ending surgery. Fluke Scott is just that, a fluke. Sarfate is a power arm with some upside and Albers is on-off serviceable long reliever. Yup, ALL that for Tejada. They are not going to lose 100 games or anything like that. As you say, their lineup is pretty decent. But I can't give them much credit for doing anything right this offseason, and I do think their organization is headed in a really wrong direction. Ed Wade did bring in a lot of guys, and though he mostly made mistakes, I'm not sure every single thing he did was entirely bad. I mean, Valverde could be a decent closer again this year. Bourn might turn out to be better than I think he is. The Oscar Villareal trade might work out, and one of his random free agent signings might do something halfway decent. At least he tried to do some stuff, even if it was pretty much all wrong. Which was not the case with the Marlins or the Giants.
