Maybe. If the Middle East is led by people as foolish as Ned Colletti. Oh wait...

Oh my God, Nick, this is awful! My facial expression became more and more horrified as I read down your post.

Catching prospects are like the Holy Grail of baseball talent these days, and the Dodgers shipped one away---with a stud reliever, which are like the Philosopher's Stone of baseball talent, right now, I guess---for CASEY BLAKE?!?! This is the same Casey Blake as the Casey Blake we know, right? It's not like the Indians have some ridiculous 26-year old five-tooler they've been hiding in the back of their dugout whose name is also Casey Blake?

Ugh. And somehow (maybe because I only pay attention to the young Dodgers, nearly all of whom are on my fantasy team, by some odd coincidence) I totally missed the story that Nomar was back at short. WTF?! He has no business being there!

Woe, Nick. Woe unto the Dodgers.

[Random aside: this reminds me of our offline discussion about the Nady/Marte trade. How do the Yankees convince other teams to give them premier talent for their spare parts? How do the Indians convince them to part with legit prospects for aging utilitymen? And perhaps most importantly of all, could these persuasive powers be harnessed for other sorts of negotiations---say, peace in the Middle East?]
