Sure, if Amaro had said "you're going to be in the rotation in April" and then backed out on that, then yeah, that may be unfair. But it's August. No GM will ever say "I don't care how awful you are and how negatively you could affect our chances at a World Series. You can take the money and know that unlike anybody else in this world, you have total job security." I want to understand Moyer's mindset - that after so many years in the league, he's earned that security. But with sports, it's the exact opposite. The longer you're in the game, the more likely you are to be replaced. I’m not exactly sure how a GM could mislead Moyer in a case like this.
