And so it begins…

The World Series kicks off tonight and, if you ask just about any baseball writer in America, playing the games is just a formality. All of ESPN’s writers have picked the Tigers in five, except for Jerry Crasnick; he’s got the Tigers in six. Sports Illustrated’s John Donovan has the Tigers in six, too.ESPN’s Jason Stark has come up with a list of five reasons why the Cardinals will win the World Series. But, in typical wussy Stark fashion, he’s also come up with a list of five reasons the Tigers will win.

Vegas says the Cardinals are 9 to 1 underdogs to win the series.

So, really, why even bother playing?

These people have issues.
I’ll tell you why. Because I’m picking the Cardinals in five, baby! Let’s go National League! We’ll show them who’s inferior.

    Cardinals Not World Series Underdogs

Conventional Wisdom has unanimously decided the St. Louis Cardinals don’t have an American made automobile’s chance to win the World Series. I’m not so sure.
