Last year we brought you the news that Yankees slugger Hideki Matsui had secredly wed a 25-year-old office worker from Japan. However, at the time, Matsui refused to divulge her name, and no pictures of her were available, other than Matsui’s rather amateurish hand-drawn depiction of his beloved.

However, in the year and a half since that time, Japanese fans have been diligently at work, scouring video clips for any evidence that Matsui’s purported wife actually exists.

So far, they have come up with two photographs, which Japanese websites agree are almost certainly of Matsui’s wife. Have a look and see what you think…

Monday is Hot Baseball Wife Day here at Umpbump, and this week we revisit Daisuke Matsuzaka’s wife Tomoyo Matsuzaka.

Monday is Hot Baseball Wife Day here at Umpbump, and this week’s honoree is Enza Sambataro, the wife of Boston Red Sox 1B/3B Kevin Youkilis.

A native of Newton, Mass., and a fan of the Red Sox since childhood, Enza first became famous in 2004 for briefly dating fellow Massachussets native Ben Affleck after they met at a charity bowling event organized by Nomar Garciaparra.

Enza then met and became friends with Youkilis through mutual friend (and then Red Sox pitcher) Lenny DiNardo. The couple was friends for several years before getting engaged in 2007 and finally tying the knot this past offseason.

Before her engagement to Youkilis, Enza worked as a sales manager at several television stations in the Boston area. She now works as the CEO of Youkilis’s charitable foundation, “Hits for Kids.”

Enza’s marriage to Youkilis is her second. After she broke up with Affleck she had a brief, 7-month marriage and divorce with a Boston-area car dealer, which produced a son, Mikey, now aged 5.

Monday is Hot Baseball Wife Day here at UmpBump, and today’s honoree is Amber Sabathia, the wife of Yankees ace CC Sabathia.  The former Amber Williams was CC’s high school sweetheart when they were both growing up in Vallejo, California. The couple was married in 2003 and now they have three children, son Carsten Charles Sabathia III, and daughters Jaeden Arie and Cyia Cathleen (ie another “CC”).

Amber Sabathia was pressing her husband hard last offseason to sign with the hometown San Francisco Giants, so they would not have to move to another city, and it was rumored that CC only agreed to sign with the Yankees after Brian Cashman had a private sit-down with Amber to convince her that it was possible to raise kids in New York.

In her free time, Amber is pursuing a college degree in history.

This week former Red Sox outfielder Troy O’Leary’s ex-wife Annette Gray-O’Leary has hit the news in a big way.

Until this past June, Ms. O’Leary, age 39, who has a master’s degree in education, was the assistant principal of Kyrene del Cielo elementary school in Chandler, Arizona, and the single mother of two children by Troy, one of whom has special needs. Apparently struggling to make ends meet, she had recently sued Troy for additional child support, court documents show.

But then Ms. O’Leary was outed as an independent call girl who goes by the internet name of “Taya Taylor” by a “concerned parent” who had somehow come across her pictures online in what was doubtlessly a completely innocent internet search. She thereupon tendered her resignation to the elementary school and attempted to delete all evidence of her escort activities.

It took a few months, but eventually someone blabbed to local news channel NBC 12, which ran a “news” report on the story, whereupon it was quickly picked up by all the blogs.

Of course, once you put something up on the internet, it is virtually impossible to really delete it, so numerous pictures of Annette in her “Taya Taylor” persona are still able to be found if one knows where to look, but other than the one above, none of them are really suitable for a family site such as UmpBump, so you would have to seek them out on your own if that kind of thing is what floats your boat.

Monday is Hot Baseball Wife Day here at UmpBump, and this weeks honoree is Krista Dumatrait, the wife of Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher and fellow Bakersfield, CA native Phil Dumatrait. The couple still resides in Bakersfield, and has two children: son Maddox and daughter Jaclynn.

Monday is Hot Baseball Wife Day here at UmpBump, and this weeks honoree is Betzabe “Betsy” Gonzalez, the wife of slugging Padres first baseman Adrian Gonzalez.

Together, Adrian and his wife recently established a charitable foundation, the Adrian and Betsy Gonzalez foundation, which aims to serve underprivileged youth in the fields of sports, education, and health.
