Adam Eaton by the numbers

Adam Eaton is back with the Phillies after accumulating a record of 0-4 with a 7.02 ERA in seven games in the minor leagues. He’ll be pitching in mostly mop-up duty. Still, this seemed like as good an excuse as any to take a look at Eaton by the numbers.

1: Number of games Eaton missed after he accidentally stabbed himself in the stomach trying to open a DVD.

5: Number of bases Eaton has stolen in his career.

0: Number of hits Eaton gave up in his first start for double-A Norwich in 1999, a game he lost.

2.34: Eaton’s 2000 ERA for day games, which led the league.

3: Number of leads Trevor Hoffman blew relieving Eaton during Eaton’s rookie year.

68: Number of wins Eaton has in his career.

139: Number of games Todd Stottlemyre won in his career (Stottlemyre holds the record for most wins by a pitcher from Washington).

1,017: Population of Roslyn, Wash., where Eaton lives and where “Northern Exposure” was filmed.

5.68: Andy Ashby’s ERA for the Phillies in 2000 (The Phillies acquired Ashby in a trade that sent Eaton to the Padres).

$24.5 million: Amount of Eaton’s three-year contract.

$8.5 million: Amount of money Eaton will make next season.

0: Number of minutes Pat Gillick is going to spend worrying about Eaton while he’s sitting on the beach sipping daiquiris next year.
