The Iron Ref contest

Iron Ref Hugging Harold Reynolds is holding a contest. It’s a play on the "Iron Chef " cooking show. But HHR’s contest pertains to sports.

Each week the site picks a theme. There are three competitors and each submits a short post with an example of a play, player, team, coach, announcer, season, or some sports-related moment that most appropriately/creatively conveys that week’s theme.

It can be funny, heartfelt, serious, or crude - whatever the contestants decide. The three posts will be displayed together with any video or pictorial evidence they care to include (embeddable video is encouraged).

The winner is decided by the readers, who vote in the comments.

I’m one of this week’s competitors. The other two are Rob Iracane, who writes for Walk Off Walk and is the comments ombudsman for Deadspin , and Chris who writes for Blog of Hilarity .
