White Sox partner with 7-11

The Chicago White Sox are teaming up with the convenience store chain 7-11.

The team has agreed to start weeknight home games at 7:11 p.m. as part of a sponsorship deal, the team announced Wednesday. They are not saying how much the deal is worth.

Margaret Chabris, a spokeswoman 7-Eleven, told the Chicago Sun-Times that games will only be starting four minutes later than usual, so it’s no biggie.

The Chicago area was targeted for such a deal because of its high concentration of 7-Eleven stores, she added. There are more than 180 of them in the area.

”Every time the media announces the game’s start time it will be a gentle reminder of our sponsorship,” Chabris said.

ApuIn addition to domestic beer and sodas, Sox concession stands will now offer slurpees and Slim Jims. Also, at the end of games, illegal-immigrant ushers will tell exiting fans, “Thank you, come again.”

NOTE: I made that last graf up.
